本週結束前FACT Mix帶來了自己近期非常喜愛來自亞特蘭大的Dubstep、Junk、Footwork Producer/DJ Distal，兩星期前才剛在Pinch的Tectonic廠牌底下發行了新單曲Angry Acid，聲音有像Addiosn Grooove般的808鼓節奏融入近來回歸的Acid House復興，，接下來的動作還會在Sinden的廠牌Grizzly底下發行一張單曲Boss of the South。
ps. 這個Mixset中幾首來自Embassy Recordings廠牌的作品則是來自Distal本身在亞特蘭大所主持的廠牌。

剛發行新專輯Resolution653的UK Bass duo Instra:mental陣中成員除了Boddika（aka Alex Green）已經展開個人的Project外，化名為Jon Convex的另一成員Damon Drama也啓動了自己的Solo Project，未來半年內將會陸續分別在Martyn的3024廠牌、自家廠牌Nonplus+以及Naked Lunch發行單曲（全都可透過Jon Convex的Soundcloud先行試聽）。

今年的最後一個Fact Mix就交給了Night Slugs的Bok Bok。
As co-owner of Night Slugs with L-Vis 1990, Bok Bok’s responsible for releasing more good club tracks than pretty much anyone else we can think of this year. Girl Unit’s ‘Wut’ and ‘IRL’, Jam City’s Magic Drops and Refixes EPs, Mosca’s ‘Square One’, Velour’s Velvet Collection, a full release of Lil Silva’s white label classic ‘Seasons’, Egyptrixx’s ‘The Only Way Up’ – the list goes on. And on. And on.
Night Slugs the label may have launched last year, but the brand’s far from new – the club night has been going since 2008, and has graduated from a low-key family affair in Camberwell to one of London’s best regular nights, spread across several venues. Rarely is a club night’s philosophy – in this case, a desire to push innovative, unpretentious dance music free from formula and geographical boundaries while staying true to the UK soundsystem culture that birthed the night – translated so seamlessly into a physical product, but over 12″ Night Slugs releases down the line, here we are.
Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 teamed up to deliver FACT mix 19 in the early days of Night Slugs; given the year they’ve had, we thought it wholly appropriate to ask them back. Altered Natives, MMM’s Fiedel, Boddika, Lil Silva, T. Williams and many more feature. [via FACT]

FACT mix 200: Darkstar

Big Up FACT，Fact Mix系列已經來到了#200，此次邀來的是剛於上月初發行了首張專輯North的Hyperdub廠牌旗下Electronic/Dubstep trio樂隊Darkstar，想要在多瞭解Darkstar的音樂影響，那直接點Fact Mix #200來聽會是最好的方法。
Darkstar started as the duo of James Young and Aiden Whalley, with a series of singles on their own 2010 label, as well as MG77 and Clandestine Cultivations. Within a year, they’d become a key part of Kode9’s Hyperdub roster, debuting for the label with the minor classic ‘Need You’/’Squeeze my Lime’. UK garage and synth-pop filtered through a chiptune lens with vocals sung by the world’s saddest robot, it expanded on the promise shown by early Darkstar cut ‘Out of Touch’, and showed glimpses of the mournful computer pop to come.
A year later, Darkstar released ‘Aidy’s Girl is a Computer’, fulfilling that promise and winning them fans beyond the FWD>> circuit they were primarily known in. A whole album of these frozen Mac laments looked set to follow (and would have, if album outtakes ‘Automating’ and the original version of ‘Gold’, found on this FACT mix, are anything to go by), but at some point between them and now, Darkstar scrapped that idea and became a three-piece, with comparatively clean vocals sung by new recruit James Buttery.
Last month, they released their debut album, North. You can read FACT’s review here; needless to say, we think it’s great. Darkstar’s FACT mix features the original version of North highlight ‘Gold’, as well as cuts from Games, Radiohead, Moodymann, New Order, Shed and more. In the words of the group’s James Young, ‘it’s a mixed selection, and I’ve tried to keep it in an arrangement that I myself would listen in personally. It’s typical of tunes I’d skip between before I record, and what we were listening to recording the album.” [via Fact]

Dygas – born Małgorzata Dygasiewicz in Poland, raised in California – has been a notable presence in house and techno since around 2005; she first came to our attention through her association with the then very much on-it Crosstown Rebels crew. Long a DJ of high repute, Dygas’s development in her parallel career as a producer has been remarkable. Working partly in collaboration with NSI’s Tobias Freund, she has now arrived at a trippy, well-honed and unshowily avant-garde techno sound that has seen her release records through such august imprints as Perlon and Non Standard Productions. Her latest and most substantial offering to date is debut album How Do You Do?, out now via Japanese label Power Shovel Audio.
Margaret’s FACT mix finds her at her seductive DJing best, sailing broken, dubbed-out productions from Pinch, Cyrus and Deadbeat through into the oscillating techno waters bossed by Ben Klock and Luc Ringeisen, making time also for a clutch of underground house killers that are completely new to us. FACT mix 197 might not have much of a Halloween flavour, but mark our words, it’s scarily good. [via Fact]

Awesome! FACT mix 193出自Ramp廠牌大佬Tom Kerridge，選曲自然不在話下，從第8首Braiden的The Alps之後就進入Future了。
This Friday’s FACT session is packed with exclusives, and comes mixed by the more than able hands of RAMP Recordings boss Tom Kerridge.
The label debuted mid-way through the last decade, releasing leftfield hip-hop from the likes of Count Bass D and Kankick. 2008 saw the label hit second gear in terms of productivity, and with it, a shift in focus to the UK’s underground dance music spectrum, with releases arriving from Zomby, FaltyDL, 2562 and Taz Buckfaster.
2009 was marked by a Zomby album, One Foot Ahead of the Other, alongside singles from Shortstuff, Hot City and Flying Lotus, while 2010 has seen Ramp enter its album stage proper, with P.U.D.G.E’s Idiot Box, Maxmillion Dunbar’s Cool Water and Shortstuff’s Summer of Shortstuff 10” project. Kerridge doesn’t just run Ramp of course, he also handles the few-more-shady BRAiNMATH label, which has spent the last few years peddling one-sided, limited vinyl releases from the likes of Untold, Airhead, James Blake and Bakongo, while his newest venture, PTN, sees him indulge his love of house music, with releases so far from Breach, Hackman, Doc Daneeka and Hypno.

約一、兩星期前大概有人會注意到來自三番市這個名字怪異的樂隊oOoOO（實際上念做Oh!），oOoOO才剛在上星期發行了同名的單曲oOoOO，同時就登上了Boomkat的當週最佳單曲（Salem則是同週的Album Of Week），FACT大概是看上了發行oOoOO這怪異單位的後勢也認同發行的紐約/倫敦廠牌Tri Angle的音樂品味便找邀來Tri Angle灌綠了這星期的FACT mix 191。在曲目裡有發現到Tri Angle將Holy Other給排了進去，不必多想這樣的Set就對了。

FACT mix 190 – Kassem Mosse

The German DJ/producer, real name Gunnar Wendel, has been behind some of the most curious and invigorating house and techno records of the past four years, first coming to our attention with his rugged, syrup-slow contribution to part three of Workshop’s 12″ series. His Aqueous Haze (The World Disappeared Into An) EP followed soon after, and its B-side ’578′ was given a new lease of life this year when Omar-S remixed it and released two versions on his FXHE label.
It’s testament to the Wendel’s versatility and worth as a producer that he’s in not just with the serious heads from Berlin and Detroit, but those from London as well. A Kassem Mosse remix is forthcoming on Joy Orbison’s Doldrums label, and he recently released two tracks, including the grotty beatdown stomper ‘We Speak To Those, on Nonplus Records, the imprint operated by d’n'b emigres Instra:mental and home also to releases by ASC, Skream, dBridge and Actress. Oh, and Mosse has just contributed to the star-studded Commix remix album alongside the likes of Pangaea, Burial and Holland’s 2562.
The Kassem Mosse FACT mix reflects the breadth of Wendel’s production output, but firmly anchors itself in crunchy Detroit fare from Urban Tribe, Andres, Moodymann Theo Parrish and Leron Carson. Put together with a real mastery of groove across different rhythms and tempos, it’s simply one of the most absorbing and addictive FACT mixes we’ve issued all year. [via Fact]

本週的FACT Mix帶來了編號186的Blunted Robots，Blunted Robots是由Brackles and Shortstuff兩位Dubstep、2-Step、Garage DJ/Producer所主導的新晉舞曲廠牌名，如果各位同我一樣是個Dubstep的樂迷，自然不會錯過由2009下半年後期由Joy Orbison所帶起的Post-Dubstep、Future Garage新運動，不管是Post還是Future它們的血脈都還是來自於Dubstep，其中代表人物如：Mount Kimbie、Deadboy、James Blake、Pariah、Julio Bashmore、Martin Kemp、Doc Daneeka、Hackman......等。當然Brackles和Shortstuff兩人也是這運動中不會被錯過的名字。
FACT這次會找上Blunted Robots也不是偶然，實情是Blunted Robots即將於11月底發行廠牌的第五張EP Brackles & Shortstuff feat. Terrible Shock – Good Foundations (Include. Doc Daneeka remix)以及慶祝廠牌成立一週年於10月15日辦在Fabric Room 3的活動曝光。
