布里斯托Dubstep製作Headhunter會在09年開啟另一化名Addison Groove的來由眾所皆知是因為Chicago Juke，當時（2010年）從Juke取經而來的首張大作Footcrab/Dumbsh*t（由DMZ創始大佬Loefah開啟的新廠牌Swamp 81發行）也造就UK Bass這樣的音樂名詞出現。Presents James Grieve是以Addison Groove這名字所發行的第二張專輯（距離同樣由50 Weapons發行的首張專輯Transistor Rhythm時間剛好兩年），這次交出的作品較上一張來得更加完整的Juke/Footwork風味，不過現下英國玩法則是多與90'初期的Jungle/Breakbeat做結合所以較多曲子的速度來到84BPM。如果有興趣Footwork/Juke這樣有別於美式而多些英倫Jungle的風格，不彷找找Om Unit/Fracture/Stray以及這次在專輯中合作兩首的Sam Binga（事實上那兩首Rzor/11th來自於去年中兩人合作也同樣交由50 Weapons發行的BS3 EP內，Raor在專輯的版本則是多了MC部分）這些Producers近期的作品。
扯了一些，但主要還是下方Addison Groove錄製給紐約背包品牌Lexdray的最新Mixtape，收錄有他新專輯內幾首單曲結合了Teklife陣容裡的DJ Rashad和DJ Earl，法國Footwork/Jungle要角Moresounds，挪威奧斯陸的Slick Shoota以及英國同鄉的DJ Die和Om Unit.....的Juke Mix。

DID - DECEMBER MIXTAPE

早在09年底就已發行了首張專輯Kumar Solarium（整張）的DID是支來自義大利的Post-Punk樂隊，相信在台灣應該是沒有多少人熟悉他們，但他們有首單曲Another Pusher邀來了These New Puritans混音（Download）這件事是該知道一下，目前DID正與自己很喜愛的英國樂隊Hatcham Social成員Toby Kidd一起錄製DID的新單曲預計明年發行，會突然Po一下DID是因為他們剛上傳了選曲（Tune of the 2010）很優的Mixtape，結束很棒的用上了WItch House代表oOoOO的歌（100分）。

Jackmaster（Numbers.）為了本週五在波蘭當地服飾品牌Fake與潮流網站Tenisufki所主辦的活動而錄製的近30分鐘Minimix，音樂雖短但曲目卻是相當豪華，當中可以聽到Jackmaster帶來了Ramadanman所化身的另一單位Pearson Sound的新單曲Blanked（即將發行於Hessle Audio廠牌）、最近才發行新單曲Heartbaet的T. Williams與Breach合作還為發行的曲目The Bees、Untold本週發行於比利時Techno/Bass廠牌R&S的新單曲Stereo Freeze、Horsepower Productions即將在本月底發行於Dusbtep廠牌Tempa的回歸專輯Quest For The Sonic Bounty內的Mexican Slayride（絕對的Album Of the 2010）、以及Hudson mohawke還未發行新曲Thunder Bay..等，So BIG。

FACT mix 191 – Tri Angle

約一、兩星期前大概有人會注意到來自三番市這個名字怪異的樂隊oOoOO（實際上念做Oh!），oOoOO才剛在上星期發行了同名的單曲oOoOO，同時就登上了Boomkat的當週最佳單曲（Salem則是同週的Album Of Week），FACT大概是看上了發行oOoOO這怪異單位的後勢也認同發行的紐約/倫敦廠牌Tri Angle的音樂品味便找邀來Tri Angle灌綠了這星期的FACT mix 191。在曲目裡有發現到Tri Angle將Holy Other給排了進去，不必多想這樣的Set就對了。

FACT mix 190 – Kassem Mosse

The German DJ/producer, real name Gunnar Wendel, has been behind some of the most curious and invigorating house and techno records of the past four years, first coming to our attention with his rugged, syrup-slow contribution to part three of Workshop’s 12″ series. His Aqueous Haze (The World Disappeared Into An) EP followed soon after, and its B-side ’578′ was given a new lease of life this year when Omar-S remixed it and released two versions on his FXHE label.
It’s testament to the Wendel’s versatility and worth as a producer that he’s in not just with the serious heads from Berlin and Detroit, but those from London as well. A Kassem Mosse remix is forthcoming on Joy Orbison’s Doldrums label, and he recently released two tracks, including the grotty beatdown stomper ‘We Speak To Those, on Nonplus Records, the imprint operated by d’n'b emigres Instra:mental and home also to releases by ASC, Skream, dBridge and Actress. Oh, and Mosse has just contributed to the star-studded Commix remix album alongside the likes of Pangaea, Burial and Holland’s 2562.
The Kassem Mosse FACT mix reflects the breadth of Wendel’s production output, but firmly anchors itself in crunchy Detroit fare from Urban Tribe, Andres, Moodymann Theo Parrish and Leron Carson. Put together with a real mastery of groove across different rhythms and tempos, it’s simply one of the most absorbing and addictive FACT mixes we’ve issued all year. [via Fact]

This 7th episode is made by the english label Young Turks.
Young Turks is a music label founded in 2006 by Caius Pawson. The label is currently run by Caius, Katie and Tic. They’ve put out numerous great records by Gang Gang Dance, Wavves, Glasser, Holy Fuck, El Guincho and the XX. You can listen to all their releases on their new website.

FACT mix 176: xxxy

This Monday’s FACT mix is a light-footed journey through house, techno, garage and dubstep from one of our favourite current artists, Manchester’s xxxy.
Xxxy, real name Rupert Taylor, came to our attention with the snaking house of ‘Sing with Us’, featured on Fabric’s Elevator Music compilation alongside music from Untold, Mosca and more. Taylor seems to get better with each release, the recent ‘Know You’ and ‘Blue Flashing Lights’ (featured on a split infrasonics 12” with Ike Release) glorious rollers that haven’t left the FACT DJ’s bags since their release, and he helped fill up one of our busiest Lock Tavern sessions to date alongside Guido and Ramadanman this July.
His FACT mix rolls through gently swinging vocal house and garage, before turning its attention to busier UK cuts, including recent favourites from Hackman, Pariah, Breach and Julio Bashmore. It climaxes on one of the tracks of the year, Hyetal’s dazzling ‘Phoenix’. [via FACT]

FACT mix 164 – Pinch

Pinch, real name Rob Ellis, has been a significant presence in our musical lives since his brutalist debut 12″ ‘War Dub’, released via his own aptly named Tectonic label back in ’05. Ellis’s more reflective 2006 Planet Mu single ‘Qawwali’ – among the best and most distinctive dubstep records ever made – paved the way for Underwater Dancehall, his debut album of 2007. Featuring a number of wisely chosen guest vocalists, including Juakali and house diva Yolanda, Underwater Dancehall stands up as one of the most coherent, sophisticated and satisfying dancefloor-derived albums of the noughties, and, as far as dubstep LPs go, it’s perhaps second only to Burial’s brace in terms of vision, ambition and virtuoso execution. ABOUT THE MIX
If there independence could be a sound, it would be a ton of bass to your face! Death Face delivers a great summer mix for our Keep Watch series including his new remix for our Мишка Records 01, Blessure Graves' "Stranger In The House". Its a jam packed hour of his pulsing and heavy hitting industrial dubstep remixes and originals. Plus it features an array of familiar faces such as Drop The Lime, Benga, Egyptrixx and Flinch. Special mention goes to our own Shark's project with Italian rave legend Digital Boy as they remix the biggest hit of the summer, Congorock's "Babylon" which will soon be released with a remix pack on Fool's Gold.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
DEATHFACE is the hive mind entity created by Johnny Love of Guns ‘N’ Bombs (Kitsune Records). During his last incarnation as GNB, he sold out Tokyo's Womb and Osaka's Triangle club on his Japan tour in '07 and made everyone sorry they ever danced to his beats as bodies were left behind from the barrage of bass. As Deathface, he still continues his musical onslaught but has moved into darker and heavier territories as he fuses together sounds of dubstep, industrial, metal and a healthy dose of heavy bass. Deathface is the sound of your nightmares from which you will never wake up!

FACT Mix 161 – Fantastic Mr. Fox

Wolverhampton might not quite be Brooklyn or LA when it comes to musical heartlands, but it’s been represented well in recent years by Goldie, Alexander Nut and Actress amongst others. The latest musician from the city to impress us is Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Real name Stephen Gomberg, Fantastic Mr. Fox came to our attention with a remix of Untold’s ‘Yukon’, released on Untold’s Hemlock label last year. More impressive was Sketches, an EP for the Black Acre label that featured four incredibly intense tracks, full of blinding colour and over-heating circuitry, not to mention a superb Sbtrkt remix.
A split 12” with Pariah, a new recruit to the legendary R&S label followed, as well as a remix of Zed Bias. Later this year, Fox will release the follow-up to Sketches, the Evelyn EP, and he’s just been announced as US tour support for the xx, whose Jamie Smith he’s currently collaborating with on a series of new tracks.
