Rinse FM - Numbers（Jackmaster & Spencer）4 hour Carnival special

Rinse FM在稍早前已上傳完成格拉斯哥Bass Music廠牌Numbers Takeover本週二（8/30）4小時Special的Radio Show，當晚Jackmaster和Specner除了已公佈找來Hessle Audio的Ben UFO、Eglo的Floating Points加入外，在節目中途陸續加入有Joy Orbison、Pearson Sound和BOK BOK在節目裡，因為近期Rinse FM都不會在隔日就上傳前一日的節目，而且這次的又是整整4小時聽完要到早上八點實在累人，所以想透過預約的方式把整段4hr的節目錄下待隔日醒來在慢慢消化，但後來電腦進入修眠後只錄到約一個半小時宣告失敗，不過好加在這星期的Risne FM是有比較快速的將節目給上傳，總之和我一樣錯過當晚節目的請趕緊下載Rewind。

Lost In Love Featuring Javeon McCarthy這首L-Vis 1990取自個人的首張專輯Neon Dream內的首支單曲Video已正式上線，單曲Lost In Love包含了Night Slugs DJ混音（L-Vis 1990自己、Bok Bok和Jam City）訂於9/26發行，而專輯則晚一個星期於10/3發行。

今年的最後一個Fact Mix就交給了Night Slugs的Bok Bok。
As co-owner of Night Slugs with L-Vis 1990, Bok Bok’s responsible for releasing more good club tracks than pretty much anyone else we can think of this year. Girl Unit’s ‘Wut’ and ‘IRL’, Jam City’s Magic Drops and Refixes EPs, Mosca’s ‘Square One’, Velour’s Velvet Collection, a full release of Lil Silva’s white label classic ‘Seasons’, Egyptrixx’s ‘The Only Way Up’ – the list goes on. And on. And on.
Night Slugs the label may have launched last year, but the brand’s far from new – the club night has been going since 2008, and has graduated from a low-key family affair in Camberwell to one of London’s best regular nights, spread across several venues. Rarely is a club night’s philosophy – in this case, a desire to push innovative, unpretentious dance music free from formula and geographical boundaries while staying true to the UK soundsystem culture that birthed the night – translated so seamlessly into a physical product, but over 12″ Night Slugs releases down the line, here we are.
Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 teamed up to deliver FACT mix 19 in the early days of Night Slugs; given the year they’ve had, we thought it wholly appropriate to ask them back. Altered Natives, MMM’s Fiedel, Boddika, Lil Silva, T. Williams and many more feature. [via FACT]

Of all the figures in the post-dubstep diaspora, few have been as instrumental as Bok Bok. As most readers of XLR8R probably know, the London-based producer/DJ is also the co-founder of the Night Slugs imprint, which has quickly established itself at the top of the heap when it comes to the forward-thinking house and bass music that continues to spring forth from the UK's long-running hardcore continuum. His place in the canon of UK dance music aside, it's worth mentioning that Bok Bok (a.k.a. Alex Sushon) is also a highly skilled DJ who is just as likely to pull out a classic house or grime tune as he is a futuristic dubplate. As such, we've been hounding him for the past year to put together an exclusive mix for the XLR8R podcast, and he's come through in fine style, littering his mix with unheard gems from Night Slugs brethren (Girl Unit, Jam City, Optimum), fellow UK heavy hitters (Geeneus, Ikonika, Untold, Terror Danjah), and a few unexpected jams that still go down smooth—after all, it's hard to argue with kwaito, Dam-Funk, or Azari & III in any mix. XLR8R podcast 156 - Girl Unit

It may be a little early to start handing out Label of the Year nominations, but as it stands now, it would be hard to omit London's Night Slugs imprint from serious consideration. Label bosses Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 may get the lion's share of the attention, but the artist roster they've assembled is just as impressive, perhaps none more so than 24-year-old DJ, producer, and recent Bubblin' subject Girl Unit. With only one official release and a smattering of remixes and other tracks to his name, he nonetheless displays a keen ear for US street sounds, whether it be ghettotech and juke or radio-ready hip-hop and R&B. This week, the London-based artist is embarking on his first US tour, during which he'll hopefully be able to take in some of these sounds first-hand while playing a smattering of dates on both coasts. To celebrate, he's put together this mix for the XLR8R podcast series, which literally came in at the last minute because he wanted to make extra sure to fill it with the latest dubplates and unreleased tunes.
