才剛與Pinch（Tectonic）聯手交出一張專輯“Late Night Endless”，不到個把月UK Dub王牌製作Adrian Sherwood（On-U Sound）又將於下個月6號發表一張集結了從1979年到1984年這段時期出自他手上製作的單曲以及加收從未成發行曲的選輯“Sherwood At The Controls Volume 1: 1979 - 1984”，曲風類型同時橫跨Post-Punk/Avant-Funk/Heavy Reggae，而在下方可以先行完整試聽一曲牙買加Dub/Reggae傳奇人物Prince Far I在當時交由Adrian Sherwood製作但重未發行過的Nuclear Weapon。

Nubiyan Twist are spreading love across the UK with their monumental 12-piece fusion of soul, jazz, dub, hip hop and afrobeat. Infectiously danceable grooves, punchy arrangements, a giant horn sound, upbeat Brazilian raps, turntablism, futuristic textures and dub effects combine with the sultry delivery of lead singer Nubiya Brandon.

The band’s debut single ‘Workhouse’, taken from the band’s eponymous debut album (released 30th March), is set for release 23rd February on Wormfood Records. A laid-back groove, hip hop and neo-soul are fused with a back-drop of ultra-tight arrangements and colossal horn section. Brandon’s rap style is firmly rooted in the golden era of hip hop - a blend of laidback delivery and abstract lyricism. 

Grown in the fertile Leeds music scene while studying at Leeds College Of Music, Nubiyan Twist are now mostly resident in London, with a hardcore faction based at Henwood Studios, the custom studio they built in Oxfordshire out of hay bales and cement as Nubiyan HQ.

Encouraging artistic and social unity between different cultures and musical styles, notable influences include the likes of Fela Kuti, King Tubby, J Dilla, Herbie Hancock and Nat King Cole.

Having won acclaim for their mesmerising live performances, over the band’s 3 year lifespan they have collaborated with Ruby Wood (Submotion Orchestra) and played alongside De La Soul, Bonobo, Quantic, MF Doom, Robert Glasper Experiment and DJ Yoda. They can also count BBC 6 Music’s Huey Morgan as a fan.

去年英國Outlook Festival活動後所剪輯出來的Promo Video裡選用了Submotion Orchestra的Finest Hour (Planas Remix)，這是一首非常舒服並且踏著Dubstep步伐的單曲也是自己初次接觸Submotion Orchestra這Soul/Jazz樂隊的首支單曲，而在幾天前他們發行了取自於即將發行的專輯內的首支新單曲All Yours，這首單曲同時也收錄了有Jack Sparrow和SeeMore Productions的Dubstep混音版本。
