Mishka presents Keep Watch: Vol. XIX - Deathface
Jul 5, 2010

ABOUT THE MIX
If there independence could be a sound, it would be a ton of bass to your face! Death Face delivers a great summer mix for our Keep Watch series including his new remix for our Мишка Records 01, Blessure Graves' "Stranger In The House". Its a jam packed hour of his pulsing and heavy hitting industrial dubstep remixes and originals. Plus it features an array of familiar faces such as Drop The Lime, Benga, Egyptrixx and Flinch. Special mention goes to our own Shark's project with Italian rave legend Digital Boy as they remix the biggest hit of the summer, Congorock's "Babylon" which will soon be released with a remix pack on Fool's Gold.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
DEATHFACE is the hive mind entity created by Johnny Love of Guns ‘N’ Bombs (Kitsune Records). During his last incarnation as GNB, he sold out Tokyo's Womb and Osaka's Triangle club on his Japan tour in '07 and made everyone sorry they ever danced to his beats as bodies were left behind from the barrage of bass. As Deathface, he still continues his musical onslaught but has moved into darker and heavier territories as he fuses together sounds of dubstep, industrial, metal and a healthy dose of heavy bass. Deathface is the sound of your nightmares from which you will never wake up!

Mishka Presents Keep Watch Vol.12 Rusko
Sep 29, 2009

ABOUT THE MIX
While still on his American tour, Rusko - one of our favorite UK dubstep practitioners
has come through for us with Keep Watch 12. Incorporating live tracks from the
aforementioned tour, Ruskoʼs unique mix of dark yet upbeat production fits the keep
watch series perfectly and weʼre honored to bring you Keep Watch XII – Rusko. Peep his
upcoming dates on his myspace below.
ABOUT RUSKO
Rusko was born in Leeds to a musical family. Whether it be his familyʼs pianos, guitars,
banjos and saxophones…or the heavy reggae and dub sound systems of later years in
Leeds, music has always been an integral part of Ruskoʼs life. After graduating from
Leeds university with a degree in musical performance, Rusko discovered the world of
dubstep through Sub Dub, Rusko connected with the sound and moved down to London
to further explore his passion. Collabs with the likes of Diplo, Wiley and remixes for ATrak
& Adele, Rusko is one to keep an eye on.
ABOUT MISHKA
A New York City fixture, Mishka has spent the past 5 years carving their own way
through the often homogenous streetwear world. Developing from a small T-shirt upstart
to the now full-blown cut & sew powerhouse, Mishka has become synonymous in the
industry with creativity and originality, consistently inspiring (and sometimes offending)
with designs that stay true to the D.I.Y./Punk ethos Mishka is well known for. Both
nostalgic and forward looking with that unusual ability to influence the influencers,
Mishka continues to be the brand to look for and trust to deliver the utmost in quality
and design. Mishkaʼs collections are available worldwide in only the finest shops.

Mishka Presents: Passions - Music Without Tears
May 15, 2009
![[musicwithouttearsfront.jpg]](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh94jrzQCkT-26Z5Wlo8gPfcZEU8LKRNezeJEExYL_cHhJ5QCssj5lH1F7XaQ5lFQrY_r65FCanF0A71jPtCvq4JzUcej3Rgcy__WeETfJU6gqFJ6JVzepwDv1IbVWkBX_rD_iX0TXAiw/s1600/musicwithouttearsfront.jpg)
About The Mix:
From Passions: I'd been planning on making a goth/post-punk/industrial mix for at least a year now, as more and more it's what I found myself listening to as well as making, but it never quite panned out. My friend Sandra Chi took me to see Ipso Facto play at Cakeshop (she had illustrated a t-shirt for them), and I was quickly introduced to the musical world of Disc Error Recordings. Here was exactly the kind of new music I was longing to hear, and right around the same time Mikhail asked me to do a goth mix for Mishka; suddenly everything seemed to fall into place and so did this mix. Ciaran O'Shea (founder of Disc Error and long term artistic collaborator with The Horrors) and Sandra gratefully did artwork that perfectly complimented what I wanted to express. Hopefully even those who have no interest in "goth" or "dark" music will hear why I am so proud of this mix, and so excited by this music.
The mix also features exclusive content from London's based label Disc Error. Disc Error is at the forefront of the burgeoning UK darkwave scene, having emerged from the legendary South-end party Junk Club. Disc Error has almost single handedly redefined the sound of young London with bands such as Ipso Facto, Ulterior, Micron 63 and Factory Floor.

About Passions:
Passions was formed in the summer of 2006 by Brooklyner Ben Deitz, originally incorporating influences as disparate as early 80's punk and industrial to the dance music culture from which Deitz made his name (as former Trouble & Bass wunderkind Math Head). Passions' explosive debut single Emergency, for French tastemaker label Kitsune, swept the dance charts instantly, gaining acclaim from artists, magazines and blogs worldwide, and earning praise from Girl Talk, MSTRKRFT, Simian Mobile Disco, Fischerspooner and more. After perfecting a riotous style of electro punk with a multitude of remixes and chaotic live shows, the sound of Passions has evolved into an outlet for hauntingly bleak post punk explorations that evoke Cabaret Voltaire and Joy Division.
